I came to this album (and label) via acloserlisten.com, and picked up the CD--great packaging!--through Stashed Goods. One of my favourite albums of 2016 that can be played at any time: it has such a nice relaxing feel to it that kind of washes over you as you listen. In places (e.g. "Before") it reminds me a bit of Ludovico Einaudi. Great stuff!

Cavade Morlem

In a time of momentary spleen and fatalism, Cavade Morlem emerged as the perfect anxiolytic I needed. Surprisingly, the interludes and narrative parts inverted their typical actors, giving the short tracks the task of building the aquatic features I figure, like sirens in Chort or the oceanic vastness in Lighul, while we slowly infuse our souls into longer pieces reflecting peace and oblivion. Objectively not the best album by Alex Smalley, but still the right one at the right moment. Lovely.
